The Best Flight Attendant Shoes
Look no further I have done the research and have narrowed it down to the absolute best flight attendant shoes for you. Yes, concourse heels AND inflight shoes. First and foremost, I want to flat out be honest: I am not a “heel girl”. Heels kill my feet and I have not really ever been one to wear cute heels out on a layover or to a club out with friends (do people do that still? Clubbing? I don’t even know.) I am a converse kinda gal! I was shocked, mortified, almost died when I heard in flight attendant training that we are REQUIRED to wear heels on the concourse.
Now, flight attendants can get around wearing heels altogether if you wear pants (at my airline). But for me, part of the fun being a flight attendant is getting to dress up in your dress and scarf with hair and makeup done and strut your stuff throughout the terminal! So, since I want to wear our uniform dress that means that I have to don the heels while walking through the airport terminals.
I went on the hunt to find the best flight attendant heels and inflight shoes. I didn’t care the brand, where they came from, etc. – just for heaven’s sake just don’t kill my feet or my bank account! I am so happy I found such a great pair of flight attendant heels and flight attendant inflight shoes.
What I was looking for in my flight attendant heels
- Comfort. This was my number one priority as someone who never wears heels. After trying out a thinner stiletto style heel on the concourse (ok not stiletto, but you know what I mean with the skinny heel – I told you I’m not a heel girl. Ha!) I decided those were NOT going to work for me. I twisted my ankle so many times walking on uneven ground or stepping in cracks and it was impossible for me to move at a decent speed throughout the terminal. I felt like I was walking in slow motion – and not the sexy *walk in .03x speed* so, I nixed the stiletto. But I didn’t want to resort to clog shoes (I mean they are ridiculously comfortable and more power to you, but I just wasn’t going for that look).
- Style. I wanted to look CUTE. A big part of being a flight attendant to me is being able to dress up. Sure, it‘s not all the glitz and glamour that it used to be like in the good ol days, but most of us still love to look cute while working. But a lot of the time comfort and style don’t typically go hand in hand. Why?! 😩
- Quality. Being a flight attendant means being on your feet pretty much all day. These shoes were going to have to hold up to people stepping on my toes, pushing the brake down on the cart, running through the airport, etc. I didn’t want to have to keep buying a different pair of heels every 3 months because they got tore up or broke.
- Price. At the time, I was trying to pick out the best flight attendant shoe I was a broke reserve. I was taking a major cut taking a step back from blogging and photography to pursue my dream of being a flight attendant and it came with some harsh realities. I needed this shoe to fit in my budget because a girls gotta eat too, yo.
And then I found them.. The BEST Flight Attendant Heels
I wasn’t so sure about this pair when I first saw them. I saw the thicker heel and was very skeptical if it would look too dowdy (do people still use that word? I feel Iike no, but honesty I can’t think of another word to describe it). The rounded toe was a bit old fashioned (at that time the pointed toe was all the rage). But I took the plunge because, hey, amazon has free, super easy returns. I am so glad I did. These heels are my saving grace! Hallelujah! I was in love.
The Comfort
The thicker heel makes them super sturdy and I feel like I can conquer the world, literally. The height of the heel is perfect as well: it gives you some inches and makes you stand a little taller and a little prouder and so much more confident without compromising stability. Also, total bonus, the *click click click* on the concourse ground is a healthy tone – you won’t annoy yourself walking through the airport. Make wayyyy, make wayyyyy!
The Style
I have never gotten so many compliments on a pair of shoes (minus that time my mom bought me these bomb ass Coach tennis shoes in junior high – best mom ever award!)! It never fails when I’m standing in the KCM line at least one flight attendant asks me what shoes I’m wearing. Despite the fact that pretty much everything about them is not “trendy”, all the aspects of the shoes come together flawlessly and they look dare I say it.. *classic*. Not old fashioned in the slightest!
The Quality
Honey, these shoes take a beating. I am not some graceful gazelle by any means. I trip at least once a day because of my own clumsiness, I think its like a depth perception kind of thing – I should probably get my vertigo checked again… Once a week I drop at least one tray of cokes on my feet when restocking. I mean, these things deserve an award. They hold up so nicely. If I get a scuff I hardly notice it and if I made a big oopsie and it really bothers me I can just polish my shoes. Voila, good as new! These heels’ quality is so good I’m only on my second pair in 4+ years. And honestly I think I might still have the first pair if I didn’t accidentally leave them in the overhead bin on the airbus *smh*.
The Price
Shooketh is the right word to describe the fact that when these puppies are on sale you can snatch them up for $65! When they’re not on sale you can still get them at full price for under $90! I mean I would pay anything for these shoes now, but they are SO affordable and the fact that they last so long make them WORTH IT.
So, if you are looking for the best flight attendant shoes that won’t kill you, look no further. Get these babies. Love these babies. Tell everyone about these babies.
The Absolute BEST Inflight Shoes
You can’t have one without the other. Sure the heels are amazing, but you’re not going to want to try to balance in the middle of the plane’s tiny aisle handing out cokes in heels for 1.5 hours with some light turbulence – no matter how comfy your heels are. You need inflight shoes. Inflight shoes are what flight attendants switch their heels for after boarding to actually DO WORK.
Crocs. I know what you’re thinking. HARD PASS. But wait, don’t close this window just yet. I promise these are worth it. This might be an oxymoron statement to some of you, but CROCS CAN BE CUTE. They have a line of ballet flats and I’m telling you right now: these will have you feeling like you are walking on clouds (as you’re flying through them).
When I switch to my inflight shoes I just wait for the ”*GASP* are those crocs??” Hell yes they are. Most flight attendants can’t believe it. These crocs look like plain black ballet flats with a tiny lifted heel (and yes I’ve measured them they are compliant with my airline dress code).
I have so many back issues – I’m looking at you husky kid in the 6th grade who jumped on me in the bounce house and made me into a human croissant. These crocs have been the only shoe I can stand in for hours at a time and my back doesn’t scream at me. Just take a look see at their “work shoe” collection. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
