Lace Peplum Top + High Waisted Jeans

Happy Fashion Friday!! This week I decided to mix a feminine lace peplum top with a more masculine striped scarf. I paired the peplum top with some high waisted jeans and heel booties to elongate my legs. My family thinks I have little-man syndrome, I always think I am way taller than I actually am (I’d say I’m a normal 5’3″). Standing next to my 6’4″ hubby I look like a shrimp :]

I have been trying to wear more heels and wedges to dress up my holiday outfits. I love these suede, heeled booties because they have a really beautiful lace stitching detail on the back that is subtle yet makes the whole shoe! I was apprehensive about high waisted jeans because of the horrid “mom-jeans” look they sometime have. I don’t really feel like this Gap pair even looks that high waisted in the photos – but believe me they are! I do like that they slim the love handles though. Especially after eating all of that Thanksgiving food! :]

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving with their family and friends! I didn’t go black friday shopping, but am jealous of all the deals I see people scored! I don’t know how well I would do in a pushy environment like that so I always skip the madness, but I am think about trying it out next year! We will see!
