Natural Skincare Routine with OZ Naturals

I really wanted to incorporate a healthy more natural serum in to my natural skincare routine that would help rejuvenate it. I struggled with my skin for years growing up. I am now at a point where I no longer really get breakouts, but I can tell from all the years I did that my skin really took a beating.

My skincare routine is VERY simple. I don’t typically like to stray away from the routine because my skin is VERY testy! So if I do try something new I always make sure that it is going to be very natural and help target what my skin needs. I wash my face every morning with a cream cleanser from Neutrogena and use argan oil as a moisturizer. At night I use a Neutrogena makeup remover wipe and typically a clear skin serum. I decided to use OZ Naturals Pro-Retaxinal 2.5 as my nightly serum.

OZ Naturals is a great company that strives to be the best in natural skincare. I typically use Instanatural (I love their skincare products!) skin clearing serum and dead sea mud mask – so adding OZ Naturals Pro-Retaxinal 2.5 to my routine made sense. Pro-Retaxinal 2.5 is a great serum that diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and tones and regenerates your skin for a healthier, younger, more radiant look.

Here’s the low-down on the key ingredients that make this serum awesome:

Retinol:
This Vitamin A derivative treats fine lines, wrinkles, sun spots, dullness, crepiness, and sagging skin you name it, it does it. Retinol speeds up cell turnover, rids the skin of dead cells that cause dullness, and boosts collagen and elastin by stimulating cellular repair at the deepest level of the skin. Retinol also increases blood-vessel formation for better skin circulation, so skin appears much healthier.

Astaxanthin:
A powerful antioxidant with potent anti-inflammatory effects. Its unique molecular structure allows it to reside in the cell membrane, and to protect the inside and outside of cells from free radical attack. Research shows that astaxanthin taken as an oral supplement can help protect the skin from UV damage, minimize wrinkles, and reduce hyper pigmentation.

Vitamin E:
Vitamin E: Vitamin E promotes the circulation of blood to the skin, strengthens capillary walls, nourishes the cells & helps to heal the skin naturally. Vitamin E is absorbed by the epidermis layer of the skin, and is used to treat scars, acne, and wrinkles because it speeds up cell regeneration. Vitamin E is an antioxidant, and is a very powerful anti-aging ingredient.

I am always on the fence about products like this because I can’t ever REALLY tell a difference. It’s not like it’s clearing a breakout or anything it is just suppose to make your skin better. But I have to say after using this product several days I have noticed a difference in the brightness and tone of my skin. I am unfortunately pale right now (self tanner is such a hassle!) so imperfections are easily spotted on my skin. I have noticed my skin has gotten a lot more even after using this product! No more awkward blotchiness or dark spots for me! I don’t really have wrinkles so I can’t really tell much of a difference in that aspect, but this serum has definitely made my skin smoother and it looks a lot healthier than before.

The only thing I would change about this serum is that it doesn’t really have a smell. I would love for it to have a light, clean scent – especially since I put it on right before bed! I always feel it’s strange when things don’t have any sort of smell to them – but that might be a big plus for some people! A lot of people don’t like heavily scented products.

So all in all I say – TRY IT! Being a twenty-something I definitely have both worlds to worry about (clearing breakouts & getting ahead of wrinkles) so I think this is a great serum to start now. Every morning I wake up with hydrated, clear, plump skin – can’t complain about that! :) I will definitely keep this serum in my natural skincare routine!
