The Perfect Deviled Eggs Recipe for the Gilmore Girls Revival
I never realized growing up my family had the perfect deviled eggs recipe until I branched out and tried others’ family recipes. We live a sheltered food-life in my home. We don’t stray from what we normally eat – meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and creamed peas. Why would you have it any other way? Why change up a recipe that is proven to be delicious? Well, I am a rebel. I love to change up recipes and try new things. But of all the things I’ve tried I always go back to this classic recipe for the perfect deviled eggs.
Three things that are important with deviled eggs: consistency, mayo-mustard ratio, and sweet relish. I was so surprised at how using dill relish instead of sweet relish completely changed the deviled egg. For me, not in a good way at all. Just TRY it with sweet relish instead of dill – you won’t be sorry!
When I make deviled eggs I always think of Gilmore Girls! I love the episode where Lorelai and Rory “deviled egg” Jess’ car! If you love Gilmore Girls your heart will explode when you see this guide on how to throw the most epic Gilmore Girls themed watch party for the Netflix revival! Don’t forget to wash it down with Miss Patty’s Founders’ Day Punch or The Rory cocktail.
The Perfect Deviled Eggs Recipe
Ingredients
Boiled Eggs – duh :)
Mayonnaise (NOT miracle whip – try Duke’s Mayonnaise!)
Yellow Mustard
Sweet relish (NOT dill)
Salt/Pepper to taste
Paprika sprinkled (if you want to get fancy :P)
Directions
Cut each boiled egg in half and put the yolk in a separate bowl. Mash yolks with a fork. Add in 1/4 cup of mayonnaise and 1 tsp of yellow mustard with yolks. Keep this ratio and add in the mustard and mayonnaise until the consistency is creamy, but not runny. Add in sweet relish and salt/pepper to taste. Sprinkle a little paprika on top to add some flare to your perfect deviled eggs.
